Slovakia, 1944. Principled Eva works in a factory owned by rich and arrogant Bar, trying to keep her head down until her husband Jack returns from war. But when Jack deserts his unit and returns, he and Eva find out there’s no going back to the way things were. When a mysterious figure from Jack’s past shows up, aware that he’s a deserter, Eva and Jack must face another truth: people will do anything to survive during wartime.

Directed by Peter Magat and written by me, this feature drama was produced by FilmFrame (Slovakia) and Loki Films (Iceland). Starring Alicia Agneson (Vikings), Lachlan Nieboer (Downton Abbey) and Brian Caspe (Carnival Row), it was released in Europe in late 2019.

Written by me, directed by Aidan Largey and produced by Julie Gardner of Lacada, this short 20 minute drama was produced as part of RTE Storyland 2017.  It was the most watched programme on RTE online player at one point last October.

Lies We Tell follows in the tradition of British thrillers such as Mona Lisa with it’s odd-couple paring in a world of corruption and sleaze, but the setting with its underbelly of arranged marriages, sexual exploitation and British Pakistani gangster culture gives it a unique, contemporary focus.

Lies We Tell stars Gabriel Byrne, Harvey Keitel, Sibylla Deen, Mark Addy, Jan Udin and Gina McKee, with music by Three Colours composer, Zbigniew Preisner.  Directed by Mitu Misra.  Story by Mitu Misra, screenplay by Ewen Glass and Andy McDermott.

Lies We Tell had UK and USA theatrical distribution as well as extensive distribution on DVD/Download, reaching number 2 in the iTunes Independent movie chart.

Premiering at Raindance 2017 and screening at film festivals such as Foyle Film Festival and Jaipiur, Lies We Tell went on to win more than 10 awards, including Best Film at International Film Festival of Wales and Best Actor (Gabriel Byrne) at Nottingham Film Festival.

Pietro awakes in a strange hospital, without the use of his legs and with no recollection of how he came to be there.  Laura, a creepily evasive nurse and Leo, a deranged in-patient, are the only other people there and offer Pietro’s only hope of freedom.

Directed by Stefano Viali and based on my one-act play, 'A Nurse Called Laura', 'Un’infermiera  de nome Laura' was filmed in Italy and premiered at Rome Independent Film Festival in 2009. It was screened elsewhere in Italy and at Clermont Ferrand Film Festival.

Storyliner on the popular UK serial.  Hollyoaks goes out five nights a week (18.30 on Channel 4, 19.00 on E4).

Two ex-lovers meet on a quarantined island at the end of their lives.  As sirens sound and the end approaches, they try to figure out what went wrong between them.
